About Us
Why We Started Agape Groups and Counseling
Agape Groups and Counseling was born out of a calling, not just a career. For over a decade, God placed on our founder’s heart the vision to create a place where people could find hope, healing, and practical guidance for life’s challenges. With years of experience walking alongside individuals, couples, families, and court-mandated clients, we recognized the need for a space where professional counseling and Christ-centered compassion meet.
This agency is more than just an office—it’s a community built on grace, accountability, and the desire to see lives transformed.
Why the Name Agape?
The word Agape comes from the Greek language and describes the highest form of love—God’s unconditional, sacrificial love for humanity. At Agape Groups and Counseling, this love is our foundation. Every service, every group, and every interaction is shaped by the desire to reflect that same selfless love toward the people we serve.
A God-Planted Vision
The idea for Agape Groups and Counseling began long before our doors officially opened. Through personal experiences, professional training, and years of prayer, God steadily confirmed the call: build a practice where people of all backgrounds can feel seen, heard, and valued.
For over a decade, this vision grew quietly—through preparation, service, and faith—until it was time to step forward. Every group, every counseling session, and every program is a direct reflection of that calling.
Balancing Evidence-Based Practice with Faith
At Agape, we believe true healing requires both wisdom and faith. That’s why our approach is built on the balance of evidence-based psychological practices and biblical truth.
- Evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, EFT, and motivational interviewing provide proven tools to address mental health and relational challenges.
- Faith provides meaning, hope, and spiritual grounding that speaks to the deepest parts of who we are.
Together, these approaches allow us to treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—while respecting each client’s unique background and beliefs. We believe science and faith were never meant to be at odds. When integrated thoughtfully, they offer a richer, lasting path to growth and change.
Being the Hands and Feet of Christ
At Agape, we believe faith isn’t something we keep hidden—it’s something lived out daily. Our mission is to reflect Christ’s love in action, not just in words. We strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus by walking alongside those in pain, supporting families in crisis, and offering tools for long-term growth and healing.
This doesn’t mean every client is required to share our faith. Instead, it means that whether through kindness, integrity, or professional care, our team seeks to demonstrate God’s love in ways that are practical, meaningful, and respectful to all.
Our Mission
We exist to bring genuine support and expert guidance to individuals and families, providing a safe environment for growth, restoration, and community. Whether someone is navigating personal struggles, fulfilling court requirements, or looking to strengthen their relationships, we believe everyone deserves access to care rooted in dignity and hope.
Our Core Values
- Integrity: Doing what’s right, even when no one is watching.
- Compassion: Meeting people where they are, without judgment.
- Faith in Action: Living out the call to be Christ’s presence in the world.
- Excellence: Providing professional, ethical, and effective care for all.
- Community: Building a culture of connection, accountability, and growth.
